Each piece is made by hand using genuine sea glass collected from beaches in Scotland, where I grew up. The seagulls are crafted from pebbles and sea pottery, with delicate muscle shell wings and driftwood posts wrapped in twine. Slivers of shell float above like birds catching the breeze. No two pieces are exactly alike — the materials themselves make sure of that.
This is a true labor of love. The sea glass alone takes days of beach combing to find the right pieces — the right color, the right shape, the right feel. When I make one of these, I'm thinking about the person who will hang it on their wall and feel something every time they see it.
